Safeguarding · operating draft

Safety belongs in programme architecture.

Every CIE activity involving minors must build supervision, communication, venues, media and reporting into its design before opening.

01 / Policies

Consent and age-appropriate design

Before participation, both participant and guardian should give informed consent based on age-appropriate information about purpose, time, risk, data and withdrawal.

02 / Policies

Traceable communication

Programme communication involving minors should use approved channels and retain necessary records. Unauthorised private one-to-one contact should be avoided; coaching, feedback and travel arrangements must be reviewable.

03 / Policies

Venues, media and data

Every activity must define attendance, collection, supervision ratios, emergency contacts and risk controls. Photographing, publishing or sharing identifying information requires separate explicit permission.

04 / Policies

Reporting and response

Participants, guardians and staff may use the CIE contact email to report a concern or incident. Contact local emergency services first in an emergency.

Full responsibilities, escalation and independent review will be completed and professionally reviewed before any youth programme opens.
